Syrian Genocide Must Stop

The American People must NOT support bombing Syria “back into the Stone Age,” because that has been done once, already.  Two strikes and we are out.

An estimated 2,000 to 20,000 MORE Syrians will be killed by precision-guided munitions launched from B2 stealth bombers, B52s, and American naval assets.

The Iranians most probably tasked their elite military unit, the Quds Force, and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, with preparing “False Flag” attacks in Syria, the very day OUR President Obama issued his “red line” statement of warning to the al-Assad Regime.

This was an honest, tactical mistake made by OUR President, within the greater context of an Obama foreign policy that, to date, has otherwise been solid, in an impossible world geopolitical situation.

What if the conflict spills over into Israel, our most important ally in the world today.  Our oath to People of Israel is written in the Blood of American Patriots:  they go down, we go down.  We will fight shoulder to shoulder with our Israel Brothers and Sisters until the fighting is done.  We will not concede ANYTHING that jeopardizes the freest of the free, the People of Israel and the people of the USA.  We would ask our armed forces to defend Israel as if it were our nation too.  This is the premise of the NATO Oath Among Member Nations.  Israel is a member of NATO whether anyone knows it or not … and should be admitted to NATO immediately, along with any nation in the Middle East that has a true, stable democracy.  If war comes, we will ask our armed forces to battle to protect Israel, to fight until victory is achieved.  To defend Israel, we will battle anyone, anywhere, any time and, as was said in the movie Patton on the approach to Bastogne in WWII:  if that is not enough, “let no one come back alive.” Human freedom demands this of us all, or as the New Hampshire license plate motto says: “Live Free or Die.”

Our proud nation and our freedoms as Americans are defended by the greatest military organization in the history of civilization, the Armed Forces of the United States of America.  Our armed forces have been the greatest defender of human freedom in the history of nations.  To defend us, Israel, and the free nations of the world today, the women and men of our armed forces are willing to endure unimaginable sacrifice, as they have always done, so that we can live in freedom, secure from the forces of oppression.

The “red line” tactic was probably just a bad idea given OUR President by one of his smartest advisors.  This, no doubt, happens all the time with all OUR Presidents.

We need to lighten up on OUR guy, OUR President.  He is faced with one impossible situation after another, all day, every day.  There is only one answer to his torment:  play more golf… REALLY.

Everything comes clear on the golf course, in that, it’s you against The Grass….one of life’s supreme existential conflagrations.  That is, everything comes clear on the golf course, if you are Scottish, like me.

In that OUR magnificent President is not, to my knowledge, Scottish, he should always play with Tiger, Phil, and the Secretary of State.  Only Good, clarity, purposefulness, humane judgment and decisive acts, along with more birdies and double bogeys than you can shake a stick at – as they say in Scotland – will come from that foursome.

OUR President Obama has NEVER wanted to apply military force to the horrific circumstance in Syria, because he knows it will only make a horrific situation worse.

I believe OUR President knows that, with heavy Russian and Iranian involvement in Syria – and until such involvement stops – the horrific crimes against the Syrian people will not stop.  We cannot make them stop until and if they each decide it is in their respective national interest to do so.

What if one of our missiles kills a serving Russian military officer, who are no doubt everywhere in Syria?  The Russians would see this as an act of assassination, would they not?  That’s how WWI started. It is not possible to know what actually happened in Syria.  The situation in Syria is inherently chaotic:  like the weather, Scots people like myself, ZZ Top Concerts, etc.

The one thing that is certain is that Bashar al-Assad is a homicidal, genocidal monster.  He should be brought to Justice by trial in The Hague for his crimes against humanity and the people of Syria.  The only way that could happen is if Seal Team 6 did as they did in Pakistan where their first order from OUR Commander in Chief was to capture and return for trial the target of their heroic endeavor.  Under no circumstances should OUR President order such a mission and risk this most precious asset of our military capability.

Back to the chaos in Syria, there has been no Chain of Custody standard applied to any testing of anything we are hearing about in the media.  Moreover, there is not one shred of proof, under adequate Chain of Custody, of anything that would prove WHO used chemical munitions, or when and where they were used.  My suspicion is that the Quds Force operatives from Iran are responsible for much of what has happened in Syria. It is also probable that rebel forces have previously captured chemical munitions that may have been used on the Syrian people.

While al-Assad is a monster, he and his Russian allies would be stupid to use chemical weapons, in that such use would invite US intervention.  The rebel forces that are now losing badly in Syria, together with their Iranian Quds Force allies (yes, the Quds Force has infiltrators on ALL sides of the Syrian civil war), have every incentive to use chemical munitions, more likely undiluted pesticides, thanks to the “red line” standard, again an honest mistake made by OUR President.

By the way, all this truly is George Bush’s fault.  His success in the War against Saddam to free the people of Iraq was, in large part, what triggered the Arab Spring, in that almost all people in the Arab world are just like us:  they yearn to be free.
